Reference library for Calypso ticketing

Client: International standards association

Contribution to the development of Eclipse Keyple, an open-source library that enables manufacturers and transport operators to communicate with Calypso cards.

Ialto's contribution

• Design and development in Java, Kotlin and C++, as part of the project team
• Kotlin Multiplatform libraries for mobile applications
• Technical support for system integrators

Card readers and remote monitoring for parking equipment

Client: Parking equipment manufacturer

Fifteen years of continuous collaboration on entry and exit terminals and pay stations: transit cards, access badges, payment cards, barcode tickets.

Ialto's contribution

• Hardware-independent driver libraries for contactless and barcode readers
• Software isolation of payment data (PCI-DSS principles)
• Remote monitoring and updating of the installed base

Gaming terminal software

Client: Technology subsidiary of a major European gaming operator

Subcontracted work on gaming terminal software deployed by European operators.

Ialto's contribution

• Enhancements to the C++ middleware of betting terminals: peripheral drivers (scanner, printer…)
• Upgrade of a Qt application for a European national lottery

Mobile payment terminals

Client: Payment terminal manufacturer

Contribution to the embedded software of two generations of payment terminals paired with a smartphone.

Ialto's contribution

• Firmware development on an Atmel ARM7 security processor, as part of a development team
• Secure bootloader design: two-stage boot, failure recovery, RSA signature verification
• Update signing and loading tools, with signing keys held in a Java Card (applet and key loading)

Data acquisition units for science education

Client: Educational instrumentation manufacturer

Units that sample fast analog signals and transmit them over USB or Bluetooth.

Ialto's contribution

• FPGA logic for converter synchronization
• Complete real-time firmware on TI-RTOS, for both the USB and Bluetooth versions
• 3 Mbit/s USB link through an FTDI bridge, getting the most out of the microcontroller

In-ground sensors for smart parking

Client: Smart parking start-up

A magnetic sensor buried under the road surface, out of reach for its entire service life.
